Football practices in the time of pandemic.

The grassroots football fields have been running for several weeks, with training sessions adapted to the new sanitary protocols and with players and coaches returning to the activity. Football has changed but the clubs do not give up and seek to reinvent themselves and identify new alternatives that allow offering quality sessions to their athletes, preventing training to be weakened by the current restrictions. The clubs have adapted their working methods and their facilities according to the indications of the health and sports authorities. Grassroots football reinvents itself, analyzes measures and maneuvers decisions to continue with practice.

The measures are strictly observed and fulfilled by players, families and members of the club when attending the sessions in the sports facilities. Clubs assign a person to be responsible for the compliance of rules such as restrictions on access only to club players and technicians, temperature controls, hand washing with hydroalcoholic gel, disinfectant carpets for footwear, reduced training groups, continuous ventilation, use of mask during training and disinfection of technical training and game equipment.

As long as the protocol allows, youth football ensures to preserve the globalized practices, with activation tasks, technique and reduced competitions. By fulfilling these dynamics, it is possible to develop complete and active sessions that are adapted to the current reality and that apply the objectives of the club’s programs. In the event that it is not possible to globalize the sessions, proposing training for smaller numbers of players, it is considered appropriate in grassroot football to resort to the use of complementary materials such as ladders or hoops for the training of coordination and activation and small-size goals, spades and barrier players for completion and progression tasks.

At Campus Experience Real Madrid Foundation we are fully aware of this reality and, therefore, we always take measures to ensure the well-being and health of all our components. This past summer 2020, we implemented 3 types of measures to ensure the health of every single member: hygiene, with constant hand washing and disinfection of spaces and materials; the use of mandatory masks; and social distancing in cohabitation groups of no more than 15 participants. We adapted all activities and groups so that contact was limited and carried out serological tests of antibodies to all participants.

From Campus Experience Real Madrid Foundation we are looking forward to see the ball rolling very soon in the official competitions of our children and even more, if possible, see them enjoy once again their summer in our Campus Experience!
