The towns of Aguilar de Campoo and Villamuriel de Cerrato will host the Campus Experience for the first time this summer.
Today, the president of the Palencia Provincial Council, Mª Ángeles Amisén, together with Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, presented the Real Madrid Foundation Campus Experience which, for the first time, will be held in Palencia next month of August.
The towns of Aguilar de Campoo and Villamuriel de Cerrato will be the two venues that will host more than a hundred minors, boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 17, who will participate in the experience at a reduced price thanks to scholarships from the council and the city councils that collaborate and host the campuses.
Butragueño thanked the Palencia Provincial Council for its collaboration and willingness and highlighted: “Aguilar de Campoo and Villamuriel de Cerrato are going to be the first Palencia towns to host the Campus Experience, but I am sure that next year there will be many more willing to organize the experience for all the boys and girls who spend the summer in this region”.
For her part, Amisén pointed out that “it is an open door to equal opportunities in rural areas, since the children of the province are going to enjoy this first-class sports experience in Palencia, her home. An initiative that combines sports practice with training in values and healthy habits”. As for the councilors of both municipalities, Mª José Ortega and Roberto Martín, they expressed their satisfaction with the initiative and for being the first municipalities to host this innovative sports project in Palencia.
Modalities
The Real Madrid Foundation Campus Experiences are held every summer in more than a dozen locations inside and outside of Spain, with more than 4,000 participants. They are aimed at minors, boys and girls between 5 and 17 years old, who want to learn and enjoy sport in values with the specific methodology of the Real Madrid Foundation. And they offer different modalities of participation such as part-time, full-time, internship, goalkeeper campus, high performance campus and social sports campus.
Palencia Campus Experience
In Palencia, the modality of the campuses is half-day, with football and socio-educational activities, based on the training in values of the Real Madrid Foundation.
