Futbol is a sport that breaks social and inequality barriers. More and more we hear and see how women’s footbal players has more importance, relevance and above all respect. Today, in Campus Experience‘s blog we make a tribute to all women football players and we tell you more about some of the most relevant women football players of today.

 

Lucy Bronze (Inglaterra)

The first defender in the history of football, both male and female, to win the first “The Best” award in 2020. A warrior by nature, she grew up in a rural village where football was not a girl’s game. She had it clear and fought for her dream. An example of dedication, enthusiasm and effort. 

Jenni Hermoso (España)

Spain’s best footballer and our pride as fans. With 48 goals in 2021, she was the top scorer in the World Cup that year. Since 2012, she has been a senior international with the Spanish national team and the national team’s all-time top scorer. An all-rounder who sweeps the board wherever she goes. 

Wendie Renard (Francia)

A player of unstoppable physical condition. She has won seven league titles with Olympique Lyon, where she has played her entire career. She received the award for the best defender in the 2019/20 season. A French national team player, she was nominated for the Ballon d’Or in 2018.

Pernille Harder (Dinamarca)

Unstoppable player, plays as a striker for Chelsea. She is captain of the Danish national team. In her time as a player for Wolfsburg, she won four league titles and four German Cups. In 2019 and 2020 she was voted the best player in Europe by UEFA. She also stands out for her social commitment to the LGTBI community. A warrior.

Marta Vieira (Brasil)

This athlete is a key figure in the growth of women’s football. She plays as a striker for the Orlando Pride. Her record is impeccable and no one has surpassed her to date, neither in goals nor in records. A silver medallist at the Athens and Beijing Games with the Brazilian national team, she has scored goals in all five World Cups she has played for her national team.
